Graves Park Cricket Club

Welcome to Graves Park Cricket Club (est 1989)

THE HOME OF CRICKET IN KIRTON IS AT GRAVES PARK.

Graves Park Cricket Club is a small Kirton based side that is situated in the grounds of Graves Park Social Club.

A Cricket Club in the Kirton area was first founded in the 1960's and played in the far reaches of Kirton Skeldyke, playing local teams from the surrounding area.
We are not sure of the clubs name, Kirton being the obvious choice!

In 1989 Graves Park Cricket Club was inaugurated. An opening fixture was arranged in 1990, interest was obviously there for a team to be formed once more and Kirton found the home of cricket at Graves Park.

Going through many stages of drastic change, Graves Park CC has bought on young players of Kirton to go on to bigger things. Now playing in a small league of five local teams, of which Graves Park have won three times, in 1996 (Alan Messenger cpt)the inaugural year,1998 (Jon Lamyman cpt) and 2003 (Tim Howsam cpt).

Previous Captains have seen the likes of Gerald Hall(1990-91), Ian Turner(1992-93), Allan Messenger(1994-96), Ian Morris(1997 & 2007(EL), Jon Lamyman (1998-1999)and Tim Howsam (1999-2007)

2008 season will now see Keith Chamberlain take charge after a forced re shuffle.

Martin Hodgson will become Vice Captain for the second time in as many years and take over the Captaincy of the FL Side.

We are equipped with excellent facilities and quite possibly the best artificial wicket in the local area.

We will strive to bring youth to the fore in our growing community.

Graves Park are fighting fit in the 19th season as a cricket club since there inauguration in 1989, looking to progress with the young talented players in the side and keep the accomplished senior guard in check.

For all members we have up loaded past stats from a bygone age with contributions from the great players for Graves Park of that time with an alphabetical table of stats for all players over the past 18 seasons (19th to be updated) This is available in postings on the Community section.
